If you read nothing else today, read Stan Goff's KIA in America.
It shows how much is being lost - not just lives, but parts of lives. Not 2,000, but ten times as many. And that's not even counting Iraqis.
The people running this war never fought. They don't get it. They want to warehouse our damaged soldiers where people like them never have to face the consequences of their actions. And they want to label those who came back traumatized as 'defective,' so they can medicate them and hide them away.
Enough from me. Read Stan. He's been there. Then - and only then - if you have time, you can come back to a post I did on military policy toward "post-traumatic" soldiers and a combat vet who befriended me when I was young.
