This is how it always seems to go: The Democrats make massive concessions on a stimulus package in search of GOP votes. Despite that, not one Republican member of Congress will vote for it. Not one!
And what's the take-away for some in the media? "Oh, those Democrats and Republicans - still bickering! No give on either side!" Case in point: this week's cartoon from the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
