There is a problem with your basic assumption on government run Medicare/ medicaid. IT IS GOING BANKRUPT. The efficiencies of a truly competitive interstate private competition hold considerably more promise of favorable outcomes for the patient, business and employment and the US deficit. The US economy would not be saddled with an additional minimum of 1 trillion dollar deficit which weakens the US dollar and international confidence in our viability. I suspect a simple 10 page bill enumerating basic reforms to interstate competition, would do the job very well.
